Easy japanese canned mackerel recipe

Ready in 5 minutes: Japanese canned Mackerel and Tofu Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 can of canned mackerel
  • Half a block of firm tofu
  • Crumbled bread (to taste, for binding)
  • Mayonnaise (optional)
  • Vegetable oil (or your preferred cooking oil)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu:

    • Drain the firm tofu and press it to remove excess moisture. This will help achieve a better texture in the burgers.
  2. Mix Ingredients:

    • In a bowl, crumble the tofu with a fork until it’s a fine texture.
    • Add the mackerel to the crumbled tofu. Mix well until combined.
    • Gradually add crumbled bread until the mixture holds together but is not too dry. You can adjust the amount based on your preference for consistency.
  3. Form the Burgers:

    • Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties.
  4. Cook the Burgers:

    • Heat a pan over medium heat and add a splash of vegetable oil.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the patties and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
  5. Serve:

    • If desired, spread a little mayonnaise on top of the burgers.
