Ready in 5 minutes: Japanese canned Mackerel and Tofu Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 can of canned mackerel
- Half a block of firm tofu
- Crumbled bread (to taste, for binding)
- Mayonnaise (optional)
- Vegetable oil (or your preferred cooking oil)

Prepare the Tofu:
- Drain the firm tofu and press it to remove excess moisture. This will help achieve a better texture in the burgers.

Mix Ingredients:
- In a bowl, crumble the tofu with a fork until it’s a fine texture.
- Add the mackerel to the crumbled tofu. Mix well until combined.
- Gradually add crumbled bread until the mixture holds together but is not too dry. You can adjust the amount based on your preference for consistency.

Form the Burgers:
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties.

Cook the Burgers:
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a splash of vegetable oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the patties and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.

Serve:
- If desired, spread a little mayonnaise on top of the burgers.
